About GLP Insights
GLP Insights is an independent editorial resource explaining GLP-1 medications and weight management in plain English. We are not a healthcare provider, telehealth platform, or pharmaceutical manufacturer. This page describes who we are, how we research and update content, and how the site is funded.
Who We Are
GLP Insights is operated by a small editorial team focused on the GLP-1 medication category. We do not employ physicians or provide medical care. We synthesize publicly available information from FDA prescribing labels, peer-reviewed clinical trials, manufacturer disclosures, and authoritative medical organizations, then explain it in plain language for people researching their options.
Editorial Approach
- Primary sources first. We work from FDA labels, original journal publications (NEJM, JAMA, Lancet, Cell Metabolism), and CMS/CDC/NIH/FDA primary documents.
- No medical advice. Our content is educational. Decisions about prescription medications belong to you and a licensed clinician.
- Monthly review. Each pillar page lists its last-updated date. We re-review monthly for material changes (new approvals, shortage status changes, pricing shifts).
- No paid placement in editorial. Our recommendations are not for sale. Affiliate revenue does not influence which medications or providers we discuss.
- No fabricated reviews or testimonials. Where we describe user experiences, we describe patterns from public review sources (Trustpilot, Reddit) without inventing quotes or photos.
How We Are Funded
GLP Insights is reader-supported. When readers click through our affiliate links to partner telehealth services and book a consultation, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to the reader. We disclose this prominently on every page that contains such links, in compliance with FTC guidelines (16 CFR Part 255).
This funding model lets us keep the site free for readers while supporting research and updates. It does not affect which providers we cover or what we say about them. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
What We Don't Do
- Provide individual medical advice
- Prescribe or dispense medications
- Verify your personal eligibility — a licensed clinician does that
- Endorse counterfeit or unregulated GLP-1 sources
- Inflate trial results, weight-loss expectations, or safety claims
- Use fabricated "doctor reviewed by" signatures or fake credentials
Medical Advisor Status
We do not currently have a named medical advisor on staff. When and if we engage a licensed clinician for editorial review, we will identify them by full name and credentials on relevant pages, with verifiable professional URLs (state license, NPI, or institutional profile). We do not use stock photographs or generic "Dr. Smith" placeholder reviewers.
